City of Venice, LGBT Monitoring Centre (www.comune.venezia.it)
The Municipality of Venice, through the LGBT Monitoring Centre on the difference of identities and sexual orientation, activates many initiatives to fight homophobia, promotes the rights of citizenship and the cultures of LGBT people and communities.
It is the promoter of the national network for Lgbt Friendly Local Authorities and associate member of the ILGA international network. It is an active partner in several European projects. It organized a national network for Lgbt Friendly Local Authorities (RE.A.DY) and is an associate member of ILGA (International Lesbian and Gay Association). The activities include projects against homophobia, in particular in the high schools of the city; queer cultural projects.
L’Osservatorio LGBT è un progetto promosso dal Comune di Venezia nel 2005, per implementare politiche ed azioni a contrasto dell’omofobia, di promozione dei diritti di cittadinanza e delle culture delle persone e delle comunità Lgbt. Ha promosso la Rete nazionale di pubbliche amministrazioni Lgbt-friendly (RE.A.DY) ed è membro associato di ILGA ((International Lesbian and Gay Association). Tra le attività: laboratori contro l’omofobia nelle scuole superiori cittadine, progetti sulle culture e le ricerche sociali queer, la promozione di diritti sociali e civili delle persone Lgbt.
